Bagyong Onyok weakens into LPA (December 19, 2015 weather update)

Bagyong Onyok has weakened from being a Tropical Depression into a Low Pressure Area (LPA), according to a PAGASA weather update as of Saturday, December 19, 2015.

As of 4 a.m. today, the LPA was spotted in the vicinity of Makilala, North Cotabato.


In their latest bulletin, state forecasters said moderate to occasionally heavy ‪‎rains‬ are affecting portions of ‎Surigao Del Norte‬, ‎Surigao Del Sur‬, ‪Agusan Del Sur‬, and ‎Agusan Del Norte‬.

PAGASA said light to moderate rains are affecting portions of ‪Davao Oriental‬, ‪‎Compostela Valley‬, ‪‎Davao Del Norte‬, ‪‎Bukidnon‬, ‪‎Misamis Oriental‬, ‪‎Lanao del Norte‬, ‎Camiguin‬, ‎Misamis Occidental‬, ‎Zamboanga Peninsula‬, ‎Basilan‬, ‪‎Davao Del Sur‬, and ‎North Cotabato‬ which may persist for 2 to 3 hours.

Residents in affected areas have been advised to be alert and to take precautionary measures on the possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
