Pastry chef calls Duterte a liar, challenges him to a fistfight

Pastry chef Jack Labang, owner of Quim's Cake, called Davao City mayor Rody Duterte a liar and challenged the famous politician to a fistfight.

In a Facebook post, Labang criticized Duterte for making Senator Grace Poe as his reason for seeking the presidency in 2016.

Last Sunday, the local chief executive announced that he is running for President in next year's polls after getting disappointed that Poe has not been disqualified on the grounds of her citizenship. The Senate Electoral Tribunal decided 5-4 in her favor last week.

"If you really want to lead this country, it's in your heart, if you want it you can do it, just don't make Poe as your reason," Labang wrote in Filipino.

"You said you're not running [for president]. You are a big liar. You're not the president yet but you are already lying!! Let's just have a fistfight," the businessman added.

Labang also vowed to bake and give away P2 million worth of cakes if Duterte wins the election. His initial promise was P5 million.

The Quim's Cake proprietor earned flak from annoyed supporters of the city mayor, some of whom believe that he is only using the issue in an attempt to attract public attention for his own gain.

Quim's Cake Bakery & Café is located at 38 Tomas Morato Avenue, Kamuning, Quezon City.
