WORD WAR: Vice Ganda vs Joey de Leon go 'cryptic'

It seems there's an emerging word war between rival TV hosts Vice Ganda and Joey de Leon. The two have been posting cryptic messages against each other's shows via social media lately.

On Saturday, the It's Showtime host thanked the Kapamilya fans who watched their 6th anniversary kick-off presentation at the Smart Araneta Coliseum live and in their homes as well as those who joined the Twitter party.

Vice Ganda proudly said the trending topic #ShowtimeKapamilyaDay garnered 6.33 million "real and organic" tweets, apparently suggesting that tweets for and about their rival show, which features the phenomenal tandem of Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza (AlDub), were fake.

There has been an allegation that those tweets came from alleged bogus accounts.

This has prompted Eat Bulaga mainstay Joey de Leon to react.

In his Twitter account, @AngPoetNyo, the veteran comedian and noontime show host said that something that has been copied is not "real and organic," adding that anything that's "developing naturally" is different.

It's Showtime critics have accused the show of copying EB's "Kalyeserye" with its dating game-like segment "Nasaan Ka Mr. Pastillas?" ("Where are you Mr. Pastillas?") featuring another online sensation, Angelica Jane Yap, more popularly known as Pastillas Girl.

According to a GMA News report, the AlDub nation flooded Twitter with more than 25.6 million tweets for #ALDubEBforLOVE when Alden visited Yaya Dub at Lola Nidora's mansion.

Tweets from 12 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, were tracked by a self-serving Twitter account called ALDUB STATISTICS.
