Her handle was derived from Dangwa, a fresh flower market also known as the Bulaklakan ng Maynila located in the Sampaloc area of Manila in the Philippines.
According to the administrator of the Facebook page The UST Files, they spotted Dangwa Girl while in the act of giving flowers to a boy, who at the time was with a group of students from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), as if she was courting him.
Curiosity has driven netizens to search for her true name, but Dangwa Girl remains to be mysterious as of the moment as no one divulged her real identity since she was introduced online last September 18.
A video of the romantic scene surfaced three days later but her face was not shown, probably because those behind the idea want to attract public interest even further.
#dangwagirlPosted by The UST Files on Sunday, September 20, 2015
News and entertainment websites as well as blogs have started to pick up her story. Many expect that she will be featured on GMA-7's magazine show "Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho" (KMJS) and other television programs soon.
