Money switching modus operandi caught on video

A money-switching modus operandi by the "Palit-Pera Gang" at Win Hotel in Olongapo City was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.

Netizen Daina Jimenez Vargas, who posted the video Thursday on Facebook, said that the incident took place last Wednesday, June 10.

She narrated in the video that the two suspects entered the hotel at 7:02 p.m., booked three rooms for 12 hours, and paid Three Thousand Pesos (P3,000).

The receptionist received the money and handed them a registration form. The primary suspect, however, looked like he was hesitant to fill up the form.

According to Vargas, the suspect suddenly changed his mind and told the hotel staff to give him back the money as they will eat first before checking in.

While the receptionist is taking three P1,000 cash from the drawer, the suspect is also seen preparing three P100 bills in his right hand. The switch happened a few seconds later.

It was found out that the "Palit-Pera Gang" have been victimizing other business establishments such as beauty salons and fastfood restaurants in Sampaloc.
