Binay asks Pimentel to man up, says in letter: 'Magpakalalaki ka'

Vice President Jejomar Binay has asked Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III to man up, telling the lawmaker in a letter: "Magpakalalaki ka!"

Binay's June 24 letter to Pimentel reads:

I read in the papers that you have requested an audit of the different shelter agencies under the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) which I headed.

Obviously, your statement is but part of the demolition by perception employed by you and your Senate cohorts for the last ten months. I hope this is not a bluff. I dare you: Magpakalalaki ka (Man up). I expect nothing less than a continuation of your demolition campaign against me."

Binay, who has already made his intention to run for president in next year's election public, sent the letter to Pimentel the same day he lashed out against the Aquino administration.

He resigned as member of the cabinet—as chairman of the HUDCC and as presidential adviser on overseas Filipino workers—last Monday.

Meanwhile, Pimentel during an interview with media said he will forward the request for audit to the Commission on Audit (COA) within the week.

The senator said Binay should not say it's a demolition as the audit is still going to be conducted and no one knows the result yet. He added that it might be positive or it will clear the Vice President.
