LRT trains collide due to power fluctuation [+video]

Two trains of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) collided near the Monumento station after an alleged power fluctuation occured Saturday morning.

LRT Authority (LRTA) spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera told ABS-CBN News that the collission took place around 7 a.m. on May 23.

In a radio interview, Cabrera said no passengers were injured in the accident, but they were forced to disembark from the train and walk back to Monumento station.

DZMM correspondent Dennis Datu, who posted on Twitter photos of the trains that collided, reported that one person was wounded.

It was found out that the operator of the stalled train hit his head on the dashboard.

Cabrera said full operations are expected to resume "before lunchtime," according to the report, a video of which is embedded below.
