Tweak Windows, maximize internet speed in 3 easy steps

Let's go straight to the point. Follow these steps to tweak your Windows computer in order to maximize the speed of your internet connection.

  • Run Command Prompt in administrator mode. To launch, right click the Windows Home/Start button and click Command Prompt (Admin).

  • Type cd\ and then netsh interface tcp set heuristics disabled, enter. It will look something like this:

  • Reboot your computer and start browsing.
You will notice that web pages load faster because the "Window Scaling heuristics" was disabled and you allowed "TCP windows scaling" to operate in "normal" mode. Read the explanation.

Please take note that the speed of your internet connection was only maximized, not increased.

This tweak can be applied on PCs with a Windows 7, Vista, or Windows 8/8.1 operating system.
