Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla shot himself accidentally

Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla shot himself when he accidentally pulled the trigger of a gun he was cleaning, lawyer Raymond Fortun reportedly said.

The family spokesman told GMA News that the accident happened at Revilla's home in Ayala Alabang on Saturday morning, February 28.

Fortun said Revilla is in stable condition although he is being treated inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The vice governor is confined at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City, according to a Revilla family friend, talent manager Lolit Solis.

Jolo Revilla, whose showbiz career she has been managing since his childhood, sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his upper right chest, Solis said in an interview. According to her, he may be "emotionally upset" about the recent developments regarding his father, Senator Bong Revilla.

The jailed senator reportedly had an unauthorized meeting with fellow lawmaker Juan Ponce Enrile, who is under hospital arrest, last February 14. Both are facing charges for their alleged involvement in the so-called pork barrel scam.

Solis added that a day prior to the accident, she noticed that Jolo Revilla was extremely worried about his dad.
