A photo showing Camarines Sur third district representative Leni Robredo standing by the roadside while waiting for a bus has gone viral online.
The 53-year-old congresswoman posted the picture on her Facebook account on Friday, December 5. It has already garnered more than 11,000 likes and over 1,600 shares as of Saturday evening.
Robredo, a lawyer by profession, confirmed that the woman in the picture carrying two bags is her, saying "Yes, that is definitely me."
She said her friend Keisha del Castillo took the picture Thursday night at the Magallanes Shell Station while waiting for the bus that will bring her to her hometown Naga City.
"Keisha brought me there from McKinley Hill in Taguig after I delivered my Freedom Speech for FNF [Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom]," Robredo explained.
"Definitely my worst angle but can't resist posting," she said, adding that it's funny how she looked like stowing or running away in the photo.
According to some sources who live in CamSur, Robredo is a regular bus commuter. Her simplicity and humility are not surprising, which is why she's always been praised not only by her constituents, but by Filipino netizens from within and outside the country as well.
