According to INQUIRER.net, 11 people have been confirmed dead while 21 others were hurt. Those injured were brought to nearby hospitals, said 1Lt. Normal Tagros, spokesperson of the military's 8th Infantry Battalion.

Maj. Christian Uy, spokesman of the AFP's 4th Infantry Division, told the news outlet that Rural Transit bus with plate number KBP 178 came from Wao in Lanao del Sur and on its way to Valencia City. It stopped infront of the CMU gate after being flagged down by high school students.

The full-packed passenger bus suddenly exploded in front of the Philippine Dairy Center building around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the report said, citing a radio interview with Mark Anthony Anibong, a student.

Police investigation on the bomb blast is underway.
