Four suspected holduppers have been shot dead by police during a shootout following a botched robbery attempt in a bank in Bulacan on Friday.
Various reports said the incident took place as the suspects were fleeing from the vicinity of Palayan sa Nayon Cooperative located in Barangay Ligas, Malolos City, at around 9:30 a.m. last October 31.
The armed men reportedly abandoned the bank heist after seeing a roving patrol car. A policeman and a bystander were wounded when the exchange of gunfire occured.
Three suspects died on the spot just outside the coop bank while the fourth one managed to escape. He drove away using their getaway car, a Toyota Vios sedan, but got cornered on a flyover about three kilometers away from the coop bank and was gunned down.
