The lead role in the film "Fifty Shades of Grey" has been recast! Instead of Dakota Johnson, Ellen DeGeneres will now play Anastasia Steele.
More than two months prior to its premiere, the television host-comedian unveiled on her show a new trailer for the highly anticipated movie adaptation.
"I'm so happy and proud to say I got the lead role," Ellen said in her introduction to the trailer. "They're acting like it's Dakota Johnson, but it's not. It's me... because no one knows their way around a whip more than me."
With some video-editing tricks, the show's production team was able to come up with a funny clip that features several scenes of the main character, Christian Grey, having a conversation with Ellen. The TV personality described the trailer as some of her "best work."
"Fifty Shades of Grey" is set to be released on Valentines 2015. There were reports that the movie has been banned in the Philippines.
