An airplane allegedly crashed on a river in Paombong town in Bulacan late Tuesday night, November 18, several reports on Facebook said.
Earlier, there were reports that the incident happened in Hagonoy. However, Bulacan 1st District board member Michael Fermin posted on Facebook saying the plane crashed in Barangay San Jose in Paombong, based on the information he obtained from Hagonoy municipal administrator Jey Manlapaz.
Details as to whether or not it was a private aircraft or passenger plane were scarce.
On Facebook, alleged witnesses claimed that before the reported crash, a low-flying plane passed by their homes as they can hear the loud noise coming from its engine.
Police as well as search and rescue teams from San Francisco, Paombong, and Hagonoy reportedly went to the reported crash site, but failed to find the plane.
A certain Leddy Tantoco posted Wednesday morning on Facebook saying Paombong police waited for sunrise to begin searching in coastal barangays to verify if a plane really crashed in their town.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) advised that they have not received any report of a plane crash, he added.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reportedly said no plane crashed into a river in Bulacan.
