Top 10 Richest in the Philippines in 2014 named

The Top 10 richest in the Philippines in 2014 have been named. Forbes magazine released a list of the wealthiest people in the country.

Leading the billionaires pack is mall tycoon Henry Sy, who has been staying at the number one spot for seven consecutive years.

Forbes reports that Sy's wealth increased to $12.7 billion this year, thanks to rising share price for SM Prime Holdings, operator of SM Malls, and Banco de Oro, the largest bank in the Philippines.

Next to Sy and family is Filipino-Chinese businessman Lucio Tan of Fortune Tobacco, who has a net worth of $6.1 billion, and shipping and casino magnate Enrique Razon, owner of Solaire Resort and Casino, with a $5.2 billion net worth.
