The Naked Truth: Coco Martin holds model like a pet dog; Bench apologizes

Bench apologized after receiving criticisms for some "offensive elements" of The Naked Truth fashion show held over the weekend.

In an official statement posted in its Facebook page, the apparel/clothing company apologized "for all the offensive elements of the show, 'The Naked Truth.'"

"We will take all these concerns seriously and will serve as a lesson learned when we plan our next show," the statement read.

Bench issued a public apology after a still shot that shows actor Coco Martin posing on the runway while holding a female model on a leash went viral on social media.

The controversial photo sparked an outrage online. Many said the Kapamilya star looked like he was holding a pet dog.

A former partylist representative reportedly described the segment as a "dehumanizing portrayal of women."

Some netizens even urged others to boycott Bench products.

Bench said early Tuesday evening: "We at Bench shall continue to uphold the dignity of women and our commitment will remain so."
