A video showing dauntless Filipino commuters riding a PNR train at the Buendia-Dela Rosa Station the Divergent way is going viral on Facebook.

Dauntless! Riding a PNR Train The 'Divergent' Way

Skyscrapercity.com, an online forum that provides information about the infrastructure and construction industry in the Philippines as well as the latest buzz on the country's economy and pool of industries that affect the lives of Filipinos, uploaded the video on the social networking site last September 17.

Having Yeng Constantino's hit song titled Hawak Kamay as its background music, the viral video already garnered more than 4,800 likes and over 4,700 shares as of this posting.

Netizens compared the scene captured on the SSC video to the Dauntless initiation in the 2014 science fiction action film Divergent where the protagonist, Beatrice, along with several others, were given a test by jumping to a moving train sans a platform.

In the absence of a platform on the scene, some commenters quickly jumped to the conclusion that the budget for its construction went to the pockets of "corrupt government officials."

However, as you can see in the following photo taken on the other side of the railway, the PNR Buendia station at South Luzon Expressway corner Gil Puyat Avenue has a platform area.

Facebook user David Joshua Luceño explains: "Hindi po kasi long enough ang mismong station nang pnr dahil maeron pong daan. dalawang daan, finladia st. at buendia st. kaya pagmahaba tren sa labas sila nang station sumasakay kaya maraming nakakalibre."

Partly, the government can be blamed for the so-called "trans-poor-tation," but the dauntless commuters riding the PNR train the Divergent way—outside the platform area—are also at fault.
