According to GMA News Online, the Teen King reportedly became the last overall pick in the 15th round and could be included in the lineup of the expansion team for the upcoming Aspirant's Cup.

The news website cited reports that DJ, who is known to be a basketball enthusiast, is a student and at the same time endorser of AMA Computer University.

He has appeared in TV commercials and print ads for the school.

The teen actor said, however, that there's no truth to rumors that he will play in the developmental league.

"Siyempre po gusto ko maglaro for PBA pero hindi po totoo ang balita," the actor told ABS-CBN News via a text message.

Tournament director Eric Castro, who earlier confirmed that Padilla is eligible to play for the AMA Titans since he is enrolled at the school, admitted that the Kapamilya star was not part of players who applied for the draft.

"But AMA invoked its right as a school-based team to sign a player who is enrolled in its school even though he didn't apply for the draft," Castro reportedly said in a statement.
