Story behind the viral Napoleon Timonera photo exposed

Now it can be told. The story behind the viral photo of Napoleon Timonera, the man who claims he was neglected by his daughters, has been exposed.

Pinoy Radio Online, a Facebook page followed by mostly Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), recently posted a photo of a man who is allegedly looking for his four daughters who are professionals (two doctors and 2 nurses), three of whom are living in the United States.

Claim

In a video posted by YouTube user "Golgo thirteen" last January, the man identified himself as Napoleon Timonera, then 72 years old, and hails from Balasan, a municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines.

Timonera claimed that his 4 daughters, namely: Dr. Laarni Flores, Dr. Mic Ng, Sharna Legazpi R.N., and Sheila Cid R.N., have abandoned him and stopped supporting him financially.

During the interview, Timonera identified his wife as Pacita Timonera. However, he admitted that they have separated and that he is living with another woman whom he refused to name.

"Golgo thirteen" deleted the video hours after this post was published.

Begging and Hunger Strike

Several social media users posted that Timonera has been asking for alms in busy streets in Metro Manila for months now. Commenters said he also has been staging hunger strikes in front of government offices, private establishments and in public areas.

"Facts"

According to Facebook user Alex Andre, an "errand boy at HotSpot Net Lounge and Snack Bar", Timonera left his family when the children were still in high school. He never had a permanent job.

Because of charisma and alleged faking of documents, Timonera was able to go to Saudi, Andre posted. While in Saudi, he had extramarital affairs with different women and forgot his family in the Philippines. His wife solely took care of their children and sent them to school.

When he returned home, Timonera's family still accepted and supported him, but he continued to womanize. In spite of it, his children remained supportive. In fact, there was a time that one of his physician-children saved the life of one of his illegitimate children, Andre shared.

In the Philippines, Timonera was allegedly involved in various scams including illegal recruitment and raising of funds for bogus inventions, among others. Oftentimes, Timonera's victims were his own children. "Kunyari'y may business na itatayo, or kaya bebentahan ng shares sa pekeng negosyo, etc," Andre said.

Recently, Timonera allegedly attacked his legal wife, who is in the care of Dr. Ng in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, in his desire to force his children to give him money. Due to severe emotional pain, Pacita reportedly suffered a stroke and is currently recovering. After the incident, Timonera left and went back to Manila; he never apologized, Andre said.

Timonera is now 73 years old and currently living with his mistress, 25-year-old Jonalyn Baylon, Andre added.

Daughter's Statement

One of Timonera's children, Dr. Mic Ng, released a statement to Pinoy Radio Online, saying:

Sad to know that there are really many people that would rather judge first before knowing the real story. They would rather hurt people rather than know the truth first. I pray that you yourselves are also blameless and have the right to judge.

I initially planned not to respond anymore and just keep quiet because this has been going on for almost 3 months already and we're quite tired.

First of all, look at his poster, he says he is looking for his daughters, why then does he know our phone numbers? Answer: because HE KNOWS WHERE WE ARE and HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH US all these years. Why has he been in contact with us?Dahil HINDI NAMIN SYA PINABAYAAN. In spite of leaving us and having many mistresses already (the one he has today is his 4th), we have supported him financially, we have offered for him a place to stay.

Why then is he doing this to us? Because he has another family to support and he is old already. He has seen that in spite of the broken home he has given us, we have strove to rise above the problems and get a better life while the path that he has chosen has lead him to nowhere. Now he is asking a much larger amount, threatening us that if we did not give, papahiyain nya kami sa mga tao at sa media. He has been doing this over and over. Pag nag bigay kami, then hinto ang pananakot. We know that if we give in again this will last for a short time only. Pag naubos ang pera, balik uli sa pangba-blackmail sa amin.

So this is the interesting story of our lives that we have wished to keep to ourselves - because this should be a private matter. I don't want to explain any no longer. I'm content that our friends and relatives know who we are and the real story and they have been supporting us through all these trying times.

Those who are bashing us, take time to think. Not all that you are seeing is the truth. Know the truth first. Before you judge, look inside you and ask yourselves. Kung anong panghuhusga ang ginawa nyo sa kapwa nyo, ganyan din ang ipapataw sa inyo. Have pity on my mother who is old already - and we're taking care of her. She is the hero in this story but the one being praised now is the man who left us and is crediting all our achievements to himself.

By the way, ang asawa ko ang nagpatapos sa akin.

So thank you everyone for giving us your thoughts. Thank God that you have not gone through what we went through and what we are going through now.

God bless you all.
