Kathryn Bernardo 'Mr. Dj' song and music video

Kathryn Bernardo fans look forward to the release of her new song, the Teen Queen's revival of Sharon Cuneta's 1978 hit, "Mr. Dj."

The actress, who is one-half of the country's most popular love team KathNiel, was launched as a music artist late last month via her debut single titled "Ikaw Na Nga Yata," themesong of the hit Koreanovela "Pretty Man."

The song was first played on the airwaves last July 29 via DJ Danny Jay's "My Only Request" program on MOR 101.9, the official FM radio station of ABS-CBN, Kathryn's home network.

On Friday, August 22, the Kapamilya late night news program "Bandila" aired videos of the Teen Queen's recording sessions.

"Mr. Dj" is an original composition of OPM singer-songwriter Rey Valera, who wrote it when the MegaStar was still a 12-year-old aspiring singer. The song was part of the Manila Sound era in the late 70's.

In a recent interview, Kathryn said she had voice lessons so she can at least give her best for her upcoming album which, according to her, contains easy-listening songs that are "pang-masa."

Recording is already done and the photo shoot for the cover is underway, she said.
