The latest Jollibee Chickenjoy news is that 72 stores were temporarily closed due to delivery problems, said Jollibee Foods Corporation.

Jollibee closed

According to ABS-CBN News, JFC made the disclosure to the stock exchange on Friday, August 8.

The company said the outlets, which include Chowking and Mang Inasal, are located in Metro Manila and surrounding areas.

Numerous complaints regarding the unavailability of some products such as Chickenjoy, French fries and burgers, were posted by social media users since last week.

In a statement, JFC explained that the limited menu and delivery problem started early this month. The company maintains that the problem was caused by a systems upgrade and not stock shortage.

Jollibee is reportedly migrating to a new IT system "to prepare for an accelerated business growth in the Philippines and abroad as it pursues its goal to become the largest Asian restaurant company and one of the most successful restaurant companies in the world."

It plans to reopen stores in the next few days. JFC has 2,244 fast food outlets in the Philippines and 589 stores outside the country.
