The victim, identified as Katherine Lim, posted on Monday that she and her husband took the Oro Transport taxi with yellow plate number "KVV 108" from Ayala Centrio Mall at CM Recto Avenue in CDO.

Shortly after passing Cogon market, she noticed that the meter rate already reached P288. Lim said she was shocked as the usual taxi fare from said mall to their house is only P60 or even less, depending on the traffic situation.

When Lim complained, the cab driver allegedly insisted that it was their standard rate. However, he lowered the charge to P200 after Lim said he should not fool them as they are local residents or even if they are tourists.

The driver then told Lim to just pay any amount after her husband got mad and told him to proceed to the police station at Barangay Macasandig so they can settle the problem.

Lim took photos of the driver and his white cab and posted the pictures online, which were then shared by followers of the Cagayan de Oro City community page on Facebook.

She vowed to report the driver and talk to the taxi operator at LTFRB.
