In an interview earlier, the group said they used to listen to KPop music after school. They practiced singing and performing their dance moves at home.

The MICA sisters were used to be known as the Gollayan Sisters, who received the "2013 Senior Grand Champion Vocal Group of the World" award during the 17th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) competition held in July 2013. They won 16 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 4 Overall Champion plaques during the contest.

In 2012, the group was known as the Cercado Sisters who bagged the "Family Showtime Grand Champion" title on ABS-CBN's noontime variety program "Showtime."

The MICA sisters joined Superstar K6, said to be "Korea's no.1 televised reality-singing competition series that has produced the most singers" in the country, over two months ago.

Superstar K6 is an annual contest that started in 2009. This year, the popular show expanded the competition to discover more talents from other parts of the world.

According to its Facebook page, auditions in Manila were held at SM Cinema Centerstage, SM Mall of Asia, last June 21. The event was open to all ages of solo artists and vocal groups.

The MICA sisters passed the auditions and the rest is history. The proud Filipino female group now dominates the Korean show and is expected to win the competition.
