The grand slam champions became the fourth franchise in the history of the Philippine Basketball Association to make a three-peat sweep after Crispa, San Miguel Beer, and Alaska.

San Mig Coffee head coach Tim Cone likewise made history by being the first mentor to garner two grand slams after he steered Alaska back in 1996.

The team's star player, James Yap, was named Finals MVP.
