TACLOB Backpack Price, How To Buy The Bag

Do you want to own a TACLOB backpack? We're posting some information about its price and how to buy the bag, in support to the cause.

TACLOB Backpack

Founded on January 9, 2014, TACLOB aims to "help people rebuild their own lives and reclaim their dignity" by creating jobs to provide livelihood for the surviving victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Tacloban.

On its official website, the organization said the survivors are trained to "make eco-friendly and disaster resilient products that they themselves appreciate and the rest of the world would also want to purchase."

Currently, TACLOB manufactures the COMPASSION and COURAGE backpacks.

The COMPASSION bag "is a bright red, up-cycled, weather-resistant backpack made from pre-loved jeans and high-grade Japanese tarpaulins." To ensure utmost durability, military-grade nylon thread for stitching and genuine YKK zippers are used.

It has a large interior pocket that is able to fit a 13-inch laptop or a standard size folder and jean pockets for all other things one normally puts in a backpack.

The price? Each COMPASSION bag is currently sold at $100. That's around P4,300 but wait, think about the following before raising an eyebrow on the cost:
  • For every COMPASSION backpack purchased, TACLOB will give a child affected by Typhoon Yolanda a floating school bag, COURAGE, with school supplies. That's a 'buy-one, take-one' deal plus more.
  • Most importantly, you assist in creating jobs for the employees—the adult survivors—and help them earn for a living so their families will no longer beg for donations and relief goods.
