Country music artist Glen Campbell had become a patient at an Alzheimer's long-term care and treatment facility, according to reports.

The news broke out following his wife Kim Campbell's word to media that the decision to transfer him was made because the Grammy Award-winning singer now needs professional care for his disease.

In 2011, Campbell announced he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

While he could still remember the lyrics of his songs, he staged a farewell tour until November of 2012. At the Grammy Awards ceremony ten months earlier, he performed "Rhinestone Cowboy," Billboard’s No. 1 Country Single back in 1975.

On Friday, country music fans turned to social media to wish Glen Campbell well.
