ANC News reported past 2pm on Thursday, August 29, that the Makati regional trial court branch 150 sheriff was on his way to Camp Crame, where Napoles was temporarily held, to deliver her commitment order.

Napoles surrendered to President Benigno Aquino III at 9:37 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, hours after a P10 million bounty for her arrest was offered by Malacañang.

After a brief talk with the President, she was turned over to the custody of DILG secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine National Police director-general Alan Purisima “for processing and booking.”

Mug shots of Napoles were taken, reports said. Napoles’ mugshot photos were shown by authorities to the public and media past 4pm Thursday.

The businesswoman was transferred to the Makati City Jail before midnight, several news outlets reported. She wore a bulletproof vest while being transported.

Interior and local government secretary Mar Roxas in an interview said an office at Makati City Jail was converted into a “temporary detention cell” for Napoles. He said two lady jailguards are guarding her round the clock. No cellphones were allowed inside.

The schedule of Napoles’ arraignment was reportedly set on September 9, 2013 at 1:30pm.

Napoles is facing charges of serious illegal detention arising from the alleged kidnapping of whistleblower Benhur Luy.
