Chris Kelly dead | Kriss Kross rapper dies of drug overdose

Rapper Chris Kelly of the 90s rap group Kriss Kross has died of drug overdose, according to a statement from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office.

Based on a Fox News report, Kelly passed away on May 1st, but the official findings about the cause of his death was not released until two months later.

Investigator Betty Honey, the report said, disclosed Monday that a toxicology test showed that the 34-year-old rap artist “had a mixture of drugs in his system” when he died. She, however, has no knowledge as to the specific names of drugs that killed Kelly.

The rapper’s mother reportedly told police he had a history of drug abuse and used cocaine and heroin the night prior to his death.

Kelly formed Kriss Kross with Chris Smith. The duo was best known for the dance hit “Jump,” the carrier single of their 1992 debut album “Totally Krossed Out.”
