Falcons dugout robbery: Adamson players' money, cellphones stolen

After losing a game, the AdU Soaring Falcons suffered another blow Saturday after its players got robbed inside the dugout in Araneta.

Several members of the Adamson University basketball team lost to thieves thousands of cash and valuables including smartphones after they suffered a defeat from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers during a UAAP Season 76 game over the weekend.

Mainstream media call the July 6 robbery incident at the Falcons locker room in Smart-Araneta Coliseum a “nightmare” and “double whammy.”

Team coach Leo Austria reportedly said at least five Adamson basketball players were victimized. Reports said shooting guard Jericho Cruz had his money amounting to more or less P5,000 and an iPhone 5 stolen.

Other cagers namely Gian Abrigo, Ar-raouf Julkipli, Jherome Garcia, and Matthew Bernabe also reportedly lost their expensive mobile phones.

The team urged the Big Dome management to conduct an investigation on the Adamson Falcons dugout robbery.
