Bagyong Gorio Update, June 2013 | Tropical Storm Gorio PAGASA Weather Forecast

Tropical Storm Gorio (Bagyong Gorio) has gained strength while moving Northwestward over the West Philippine Sea, state weather bureau PAGASA reported.

At 4pm Sunday, June 30, 2013, the center of Bagyong Gorio was spotted at 230 kilometers West of Dagupan City with maximum winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 26 kph.

Weather experts said the estimated rainfall amount is from 5 to 17 millimeters per hour (moderate to heavy) within the 400-km diameter of Bagyong Gorio.

PAGASA advised residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under signal number 1 to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Those living in coastal areas, meanwhile, are alerted against big waves.

Fishermen specially those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Western Seaboards of Luzon due to big waves, the weather bureau added.
