Philippines and Turkmenistan held six points apiece going into their third meeting. The Azkals topped Group E with a plus-8 advantage against the Turkmen’s plus-seven.
Both teams played excellent football. The Azkals needed to play well on defense to come out victorious with a draw to win and qualify to the main draw in Maldives next year.

Filipino-British player Phil Younghusband finally ended the drought for points as he scored in the 67th minute to lift the Philippines, one-nil.
Although at first there was a little bit of confusion, game officials confirmed awarding a point to the Philippine team moments later.
Phil earned a red card in the 85th minute, just five minutes to go before end game, which means he cannot play in the first game in Maldives.
The Azkals had successfully put up strong defense to keep their lead in the game that was very physical.
The referee has blown the whistle after four minutes of added time. The Azkals defeated Turkmenistan to win the match 1-0 at full time.
