Alicia Keys national anthem at Super Bowl makes history [+Video]

American singer-songwriter and actress Alicia Keys makes history as she brings a soulful touch to the US National Anthem, singing and playing a piano version of the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl.

She is the first singer to use piano as accompaniment at a Super Bowl performance of the national anthem after Billy Joel in 2007.

Keys’ rendition is believed to be one of the longest an artist ever did at the annual NFL championship game.

Sports media writer David Barron posted on Twitter that he clocked Keys’ version at 156.4 seconds, breaking the 152 seconds mark by Natalie Cole with a choir in 1994.
