The 19-year-old suspect identified as Tyrone Terbio turned himself to authorities after he reportedly heard there was a shoot-to-kill order against him. He was the one who allegedly stabbed PeƱaranda, but he denied having a hand in the killing.

Another suspect named Joseph Beltran, the purported ‘lookout’, was caught by police earlier.

A manhunt operation is ongoing to capture the remaining suspect, 26-year-old Carl De Guzman who allegedly drove the motorcycle as their getaway vehicle. De Guzman is reportedly a son of a tanod in Barangay Batong Malaki in Laguna.

Initial investigation revealed that the 19-year-old PeƱaranda was on his way home with two friends before dawn on Sunday when the suspects blocked their way and declared a holdup.

The victim refused to hand over his belongings apparently prompting Terbio to stab him in the chest.
