Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez in a statement said, “Our participation in ITB this year is quite significant because it’s the first time for us to roll out the ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines’ campaign in a global event.”

The 2012 ITB is currently held in Berlin until March 11.

Jimenez leads the 41-man Philippine delegation. The DOT is sharing its booth, which covers a total area of 180 square meters, with partners from the private sector representing top hotels, resorts and travel agents in the Philippines.

The Tourism Secretay said he is confident that the campaign’s exposure in the international expo would create a higher level of awareness that the Philippines is a “must-experience” destination in Asia.

He added that the department’s goal is to attract 10 million tourists by 2016.
