DepEd, CHEd Suspension of Classes (Wednesday, Sept 28, 2011)

Typhoon Pedring still batters Metro Manila and some areas in Luzon. According to PAGASA, storm warning signal number 1 is still up in the National Capital Region (NCR). The question now is, will there be classes in the kindergarten, elementary and high school on Wednesday, September 28?

Suspension of ClassesIf the heavy rains and flooding continue and NCR is still under signal no. 1 by 5am tomorrow, the probability is there will be no classes in the primary level/kinder.

But the Department of Education (DepEd) in its Twitter account said “no announcements have been made regarding suspension of classes tomorrow,” so parents and students will have to monitor the news Tuesday evening.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), likewise does not have any announcement yet.

NCR: Classes will remain suspended in Bagong Silangan ES in QC; Sucat & Cupang ES in Muntinlupa; P. Guevarra ES in Manila tom, Sept 28.
Cainta, Rizal: Classes will remain suspended tom, Sept 28, for kinder, elementary and high school as declared by LGU.
NCR: In areas that are still flooded and where there are continuing power outages, LGU may declare localized suspension.
NCR: Classes will resume tom, Sept 28, except in areas where suspensions have been declared earlier.
Rizal: Regular classes will resume tomorrow except in Rodriguez and San Mateo.
Laguna: Classes will resume in Calamba and Sta Rosa tom, Sept. 28
Batangas: Classes will resume in Lipa City and Tanauan City tom, Sept 28.
Antipolo City: Classes will remain suspended tomorrow, Sept 28, for kinder, elementary & HS as declared by LGU.
Bulacan: Classes will remain suspended in kinder, elementary and HS tom, Sept 28, as announced by Vice Gov Daniel Fernando.
Classes will remain suspended in all public elementary & high schools in San Mateo, Rizal tomorrow, Sept 28.
VALENZUELA: Classes will remain suspended tom, Sept 28, in the ff brgys - Wawangpolo, Poblacion, Arkong Bato, Rincon and Mabalo

All other areas shall continue to hold the NCAE tom, Sept 28, as stated in DepEd Memorandum No.153, s.2011. Please be guided accordingly.
NCAE in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, CAR & NCR will be postponed to September 30 (Friday) to allow for the preparation of test centers.

News Updates:

Classes in all levels in Marikina City are suspended on Wednesday, city administrator Vic Sabiniano announced. DepEd NCR reportedly said most schools said city are being used as evacuation centers.

Classes from public pre-school to high school in Navotas and Malabon are likewise suspended, an ABS-CBN report said.

Valenzuela city mayor Sherwin Gatchalian also announced class suspensions in barangays Polo, Balangkas, Pasolo, Coloong, Malanday, Tagalag, Isla, Wawang Pulo, Poblacion, Arkong Bato, Rincon, Mabolo and Bisig.

The Technological Insitute of the Philippines in Manila and in Quezon City, the report said, have also announced that they won’t hold classes on Wednesday.
