He won Two Million Pesos (P2M) cash, but Marcelito revealed that the happiness he felt when his family got reunited after being separated for years is more than the money and popularity he currently receives.
Marcelito on Saturday said he was very thankful that Pilipinas Got Talent paved the way for his reunion with his mother and sisters.
During the grand performance night on June 25, Marcelito sang his own rendition of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli's “The Prayer” [watch video]. Marcelito received a standing ovation for his one-of-a-kind world-class performance.
It was another classic rags-to-riches story.
The competition was based on online and text votes. The top 3 in no particular order were Happy Feet, Freestylers and Marcelito.
Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2's grand finale took place at the Araneta Coliseum exactly 4 months after it premiered on February 26. The next season begins Saturday, July 9, 2011.
