Mayon Lava: Demon's Hand (Photo)

My basic photo enhancement skill produced probably the scariest image for 2009 - the Demon's Hand. Originally posted at www.inquirer.net, the photo shows lava flowing from an angry Mayon Volcano.

This is the original photo at Inq.net with the caption: "RED HOT. Lava flows from the crater of Mayon volcano in Legazpi, Albay late Monday, prompting the evacuation of 9,000 families. Shooting plumes of ash into the air, the volcano had five ash explosions..."


It looks simply as lava.

But when cropped and applied with more contrast, the red hot lava appears like a Demon's Hand. The skeleton effect is eerie.
