WSJ: Apple Acquires Lala Media

The World Street Journal has reported on Saturday that Apple Inc. acquired online music company Lala Media Inc., "possibly signaling an expansion of the computer giant's music strategy."

Lala
Lala.com is an online music storage service that is more appropriately referred to as "music in the cloud". Currently, it claims having a music collection of more than 8 million songs in all kinds of genre. Lala is also a partner of Google for its recently launched music search feature.

WSJ said Apple may seek to adapt Lala's Web song offerings or incorporate its technology into a subscription service.
