2009 Christmas Bonus for Government Employees
In a press briefing, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde confirmed tuesday that MalacaƱang will give extra cash gifts as Christmas bonus to government workers possibly within the week.
Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. has been tasked to look for funds for the Christmas bonus. The exact amount was not announced.Merry Christmas Madam President! And thank you we say.
Update 12/09/09: We heard from several sources that the Christmas Bonus will be P5,000 up to P10,000 depending on the savings of the agency or LGU. Usually, the funds are sourced from the surplus - from the annual budget allocated for vacant positions that are unfilled, savings from the maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE), income from equipment rentals, earnings from sand and gravel extractions, and/or from tax revenues.
