Bite the Bullet

Senator Chiz Escudero announced his resignation from the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC). His shocking decision earned mixed reactions from his critics as well as former allies.

Now that Senator Escudero has bolted out of the NPC, is he out of the 2010 presidential race too?

TV news reports mentioned that he is open to the idea of running as Vice President instead of President. Malacañang likewise has talked about the possibility a Teodoro - Escudero tandem and his joining the administration party Lakas-Kampi-NUCD.

When the press asked if Escudero, who is known to be a strong critic of the administration and has in fact led efforts to impeach the President, will be happy if his hand will be raised by President GMA upon proclamation, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita during a press conference replied that the senator 'should take the consequences of his actions' and that 'he should bite the bullet'.

History tells us that in Philippine politics, there is no permanent enemies nor friends. I don't have to elaborate more on that as we all know that it happens even in the local political scene.

Based on this development, I came up with a list of possible 'partnerships' in the coming 2010 elections.
