Blogger needs our ideas

Google Blogger is giving its members the opportunity to introduce new ideas to improve the platform. A page called Product Ideas is being setup to enable bloggers on Blogger post their suggestions for a New Feature, a Blog of Note and/or a New Gadget.

Among the thousands, I have read several user suggestions that are worth mentioning. These are features that are already existing either in rival Wordpress or in third-party widgets.

Check out these ideas. You can vote for them to pave way for eventual consideration and approval by Blogger's technical support team. Click the name for the link.

"Contacting Blogger.com support should be more transparent. Now you can just Tweeter and write in Google Groups - but it's very rare when someone from Blogger team takes action based on those reports. It's just frustrating when nobody is listening." - iValer

"Static pages on Blogspot, meaning you can add any extra pages you want." - http://www.blogspot.com/, US

Provide an easy way to create thumbnail galleries inside a post, from picasaweb or from other places." - w00binda, Torino

"The ability to add some words to "THE BLACK LIST", like bad words, hate, violence, ... (as a word filter, and a spam blocker !)" - UPSOS Team, World Wide

I have posted my ideas too. I am giving you full discretion to vote for them or to vote for them. In short, you have to. Just kidding!

• "Add to Blogger the ability to upload and store various media files such as .pdf, .flv, .swf, .ppt, .doc, among others, at 100MB file size ceiling to avoid abuse."
• "Add the ability to show or hide widgets in a page of our choice."
• "Automatic deletion of blog if it has been inactive for 2 years. Like me, I'd love to have the URL http://coolbuster.blogspot.com. Someone has got it but has been inactive for more than 2 years. =("
