Filipinos all over the country watch "May Bukas Pa" during primetime not only for its powerful cast and production but for the message it sends to a country who is searching for an inspiration. They find Santino as the one. Viewers laugh and cry with him. They find Santino the character as a persona who exists in every person's life, particularly those who are going through difficult times. People are happy when he is happy, they are sad when he is sad.

"Bro", portrayed in the series as Jesus, is also a strong character. He truly touches lives. There was a part that a Judge was not able to sign an arrest warrant for Father Anthony (played by actor Jaime Fabregas) for cases filed against the latter by Enrique the town mayor (played by actor Albert Martinez). The Judge couldn't sign the warrant as all the ballpens, sign pens and pencils become inkless as he signs. The judge realized the miracle and asked for the forgiveness of his sins.

For some reason, the series' pool of writers and director have been excellent in showing arguments between priests and politicians, which is really happening in our country these days as read in the papers. But not all the time. In my locality, as far as I know, the Church and Government cooperate with each other for progress and development, and the upholding of people's faith. "May Bukas Pa" is being widely promoted by priests during mass sermons.

The series, Santino in particular, has become the word-of-mouth in households. My mother told me one time that in her workplace, a co-worker encourages everyone to be like Santino whenever they feel down, tired and weary.

He truly is an inspiration.
