Open DNS blocks Project Wonderful
I rented a computer from an internet cafe to get updates on a newly-established website dedicated for the alumni of my high school alma mater, which I am one of the administrators. At the same time, I wanted to check some pending ad bidders at Project Wonderful.
I found out that the cafe uses OpenDNS. Worse, OpenDNS is blocking Project Wonderful, an online advertising broker with an innovative model that brings fairness, transparency, and profitability to the advertising process, the scripts of which are installed in this blog. Obviously, I was not able to open the website because it is blocked. My objective was defeated.

OpenDNS is the leading provider of free security and infrastructure services that make the Internet safer through integrated Web content filtering, anti-phishing and DNS. OpenDNS services enable consumers and network administrators to secure their networks from online threats, reduce costs and enforce Internet-use policies. OpenDNS is used today by millions of users and organizations around the world.
Many internet shops in big cities use OpenDNS. If this continues, how will the advertisers able to show their products if OpenDNS is blocking them? Project Wonderful for example, is categorized by OpenDNS as Adware/Advertising. While it is true that Project Wonderful engages in advertising, it does not have adware. An adware or advertising supported software, as described by Wikipedia, "is any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements to a computer after the software is installed on it or while the application is being used. Some types of adware are also spyware and can be classified as privacy-invasive software."
OpenDNS deprived me of my right to open a website of my choice. Project Wonderful should not be blocked. It should not be categorized by OpenDNS as Adware/Advertising.
Can I possibly get your say on this? I wanted this post read by advertisers of Project Wonderful and OpenDNS admin themselves. Please share your views and opinions.
