Coolbuster's Firefox Tweak 2009

Firefox is our most favorite browser because it meets our browsing needs. It's fast and reliable. We are going to make it faster and more reliable with our step-by-step tweaking guide.
1. Install Firefox 3. If you have not downloaded yet, get the latest version here.
2. Open Firefox. In the address bar, type about:config.
3. In the Filter bar, type network.http and hit Enter.
4. Change the values as follows by double-clicking the corresponding entries in your Firefox browser. Please discard the semi-colon.
- network.http.max-connections; 32
- network.http.max-connections-per-server; 16
- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy; 16
- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server; 8
- network.http.pipelining; true
- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests; 8
- network.http.pipelining.ssl; true
- network.http.proxy.pipelining; true
6. Run CCleaner first before restarting Firefox. CCleaner can be downloaded here.

also, i found this when i typed timeout:
network.http.request.timeout
it is set to 300. is it okay?
it is default. this entry does not show if you upgrade to Firefox 3.0.6

You do realize that most (if not all) of those tweaks could actually cause a slowdown in Firefox performance, don't you?
I am curious why. Would you like to expound?
These tweaks sped up my Firefox, I don't see any slowdown.
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests has a hard coded upper limit of 8 max no matter the higher number as it will still be 8 even if you were to set it at 300.
The so called pipelining tweaks can also cause some images to swap places, sites displaying incorrectly to not at all and in extreme case may even get you IP banned from site.
