How to Completely Remove AskBar Toolbar

AskBar Toolbar is a Browser Helper Object or BHO. According to Wikipedia, a BHO is a DLL module designed as a plugin for a web browser to provide added functionality. BHOs were introduced in October 1997 with the release of version 4 of Internet Explorer but is now utilized in most browsers.

It is available for download from and just like most toolbars, AskBar has the capability to track the browsing activity of users for the purpose of suggesting relevant content to respond to keyword queries.

We decided to conduct a test on this to personally experience having AskBar Toolbar in our browser. We used Firefox for this test.

We found out that AskBar is also integrated in File Transfer Protocol or FTP program installations but the user has the option to install or not. But some users are uncomfortable having AskBar so they prefer to uninstall it.

We also discovered during our test that files associated to AskBar are not completely removed during the browser uninstallation process.
