Freestyle Online - How to fix "You need to create a new character first" error

My most favorite things when it comes to internet are online games to play for free. There are many free games online and one of the most popular is Freestyle Online street basketball.

I've been playing Freestyle for three years now. The game keeps getting better and more exciting as time passes by. A fact check tells us that basketball is a game everyone loves and anything associated with it, more so free games online like Freestyle, are loved up.

On the other hand, Freestyle online, like any other online games, has bugs. Lately, Freestyle online users were surprised when they cannot anymore login to their favorite game. A "You need to create a new character first" error shows up during a user attempt to login.

Upon searching for answers in Freestyle boards, I found out that the main culprit of the collapse is the Freestyle installer itself. Users who have the old version installed on their computers need to replace their current Freestyle files to be able to play the game again.

Here's a step by step procedure to fix the error:

1. Uninstall the old version or simply delete the Freestyle folder.
2. Download Internet Download Manager. This is important. Freestyle download server does not offer a resume capability. The installer is a 261 mb file which is large. You do not want to start all over again if downloading is cut off along the way, do you? IDM, which you can buy or try the free trial version, can greatly help.
3. Using IDM, download the Freestyle game pack from this link.
4. When download is complete, unzip Freestyle.rar, copy and past the folder to your desired location.
   
5. Create a shortcut of Freestyle.exe.
   
6. Click the shortcut icon to start, patch and you're ready to play.
